About Us

Welcome to the City of Roxton, populatiom 558, located 15 miles southwest of Paris, Texas. We are bounded by two creeks, Denton Creek and Cane Creek which is spanned by a picturesque tripple arch masonry railroad trestle, one of two remaining such trestles in Texas. Roxton is a trailhead on the Northeast Texas Trail, a 130-mile rereational trail rolling over rural Northeast Texas from Farmersville to New Boston. The trail passes over the tripple arch trestle, so have your cameras ready.

In the 1850's the Blackland Prairie beckoned settlers to the Roxton area, and from the 1850s to the 1960s, cotton was indeed king. Roxton became a trading center with the coming of the Santa Fe Railroad in 1887. The town grew and prospered, and to this day touts its rich heritage, much of it on display at the Chaparral Museum in downtown Roxton. In 1909 The Paris Morning News declared "Roxton, Texas, is the biggest little town on the map!" In 2025 we think we still are! come check us out.
